Reclaiming Your Backyard Space

Whether dealing with an aging, unmaintainable pool or simply wanting to reclaim backyard space for a new development, swimming pool removal is a specialized excavation task.

Complete vs. Partial Removal

Complete Removal: The entire concrete shell, reinforcing steel, and plumbing are broken out and removed from the site. This is essential if you plan to build a new structure over the area.

Partial Removal (Fill-in): The top meter of the pool is broken off, holes are punched in the base for drainage, and the remainder is filled with soil. While cheaper, this limits future construction over the site and must be declared to future buyers.

The Engineered Backfill

The most critical aspect of pool removal is the backfill. Loose, uncontrolled fill can lead to subsidence over time. Suitable fill is placed and compacted in layers, with testing or certification arranged where the project specification requires it.
