Executing Scale Commercial Demolition

Commercial demolition is an engineered discipline. It requires meticulous planning, stakeholder management, and strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations. Here is the standard process undertaken by Demolition Australia Co.

Stage 1: Pre-Demolition Auditing

Before any machinery arrives, the site undergoes exhaustive auditing. This includes hazardous materials (hazmat) surveys, structural engineering assessments, and the drafting of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). At this stage, traffic management and noise/vibration mitigation plans are also finalized.

Stage 2: Service Abolishment & Make Safe

All utilities—power, water, gas, and telecommunications—must be formally abolished. We coordinate the required applications and confirmations with the relevant network providers so the structure is safe for commencement.

Stage 3: Soft Strip and Hazmat Remediation

The interior is stripped of non-structural elements, and any identified hazardous materials (such as asbestos or PCB paints) are removed under strict containment by licensed personnel.

Stage 4: Structural Demolition

Depending on the site, this may involve top-down demolition using small machines craned onto the roof, or mechanical demolition using high-reach excavators. The methodology is dictated entirely by safety and site constraints.

Article FAQs

How is dust managed during commercial demolition?
We utilize advanced water misting systems attached directly to excavator booms, as well as perimeter suppression systems, to prevent dust from leaving the site footprint.
Can you recycle commercial building materials?
Where practical, materials are separated for recovery, with steel prioritised and concrete processing considered when site conditions and specifications allow.
